There are two 2010 1-hour sulfur dioxide (SO2) nonattainment areas in the state. Both nonattainment areas are partial counties. One includes a portion of Jefferson County and the other includes a portion of Jackson County. There are two 2008 lead nonattainment areas within the state. One includes the city limits of Herculaneum in Jefferson County, and the other includes portions of Iron, Dent, and Reynolds County.
