        <idPurp>This layer was originally developed for use in the MoDNR-funded Vulnerability Assessment (VA) of Missouri Public Drinking Water to Chemical Contamination Project at  Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES). The VA project was implemented in 1991 by MoDNR. MoDNR contracted with CARES to conduct this assessment. The project is designed to determine which, if any, public water supplies are threatened by any chemicals being tested under the Safe Drinking Water Act.</idPurp>

Locations derived from USGS Digital Orthophoto Quarter-Quadrangles (DOQQ) are accurate to no more than 33 feet. Data collected using global positioning system (GPS) receivers are accurate to somewhere between 10 and 100 feet.
